The team at MM Identity Lab just finished a fantastic self promotion project, working with local vendors to create their Year of the Horse Card Deck Calendar in order to “promote brand awareness, bring together the creative community, and cultivate potential business relationships in good chemistry.”
I love the process that went into creating this—both the idea that different card suits correlate to the seasons of the year and the thought that self promo piece can be high quality enough to become a keepsake. Check out the video below for a mesmerizing look into the creation process.

We partnered with a few local vendors and designers to create a custom calendar with a hand-stained wooden stand that acts as a self-promoting marketing piece. 12 of the 52 cards in the deck are used to represent the 12 months in the year and correlate with the four seasons. These calendar cards can be displayed on the wooden holder to guide a person through 2014. Come the next year, the deck can hang around as a custom-designed deck of playing cards.
