I always look forward to the typographic “best of” posts each year, so I thought I’d do a rundown of my favorites. I don’t claim to be a type expert, so I wouldn’t call this an official “best of” list; this is simply a list of the top 10 typefaces from 2009 that I would love to add to my library.

What are some of your favorites?
Nice list! Not all of them have been published in 2009, but it doesn’t really matters, since they are in fact exciting typefaces. My personal last year’s favourites are listed here.

I bought Eloquent, but haven’t gotten a client to accept a design using it yet. I absolutely love it.
I think I need to add a font like Geogrotesque to my library. It’s very sleek, modern and elegant.
