Last night I almost got into the Sex and the City premiere at Radio City Music Hall. Almost. By the time they told us they were out of seats I was probably only 50 people away from the theater door, of course. The show was way oversold—by the thousands—which caused quite an uproar. People had traveled from all over, paid exorbitant amounts of money for tickets (one person we met in line paid $1500, which was clearly insane), and gotten completely decked out in formal wear all to be turned away. I was not one of them—the tickets clearly said first come, first served—so I wasn’t quite as disappointed. Although I agree that it is pretty ridiculous that they oversold the show by that many tickets. Seems completely unnecessary.
