I recently came across the work of Brian Oakes in an article on Design Observer where they were discussing the Lehman Brothers situation. What brought up his name was his motion graphics work on the documentary I.O.U.S.A. The film examines the United States’ never-ending national debt and the imminent consequences for its citizens, through information graphics that are without question powerful and engaging. Some screen shots are below, but you definitely have to check out the clip to get the full effect.
