Candy Chang’s work is so incredibly inspiring. Through interactive public art installations, she attempts to make cities more comfortable for people, improve neighborhoods and the well-being of individuals. This particular piece, Before I Die, Candy turned the side of an abandoned house into giant chalkboard that invited passersby to publicly declare what’s important to them. As you can see below, it was very well received, and the impact didn’t end there. A kit including a stencil and how-to guide is in the works, so that you can replicate this project in your own community, and a site has been developed where you can submit your own dreams and buy limited edition paintings that support the project.
Be sure to have a look around her portfolio, there are so many great ideas to be explored.
