Toronto-based designer/illustrator Leeay Aikawa has a special talent for crafting mixed media collages that are simply fascinating.
Leeay on her inspiration:
I like mixing old and new, classical and edgy, to create a bizarre world. In a way, this multi-cultured city of Toronto established me as a collage artist as this city shows lots of opposite combos like that and always surprises me!
In addition to her work as a Staff Illustrator for Rookie, she’s had her collage and illustration work featured in The New York Times, The Stranger, Le Monde, The Atlantic, The Globe and Mail and beyond.
