Letterpress Tattoo Posters

To promote an upcoming AIGA Salt Lake City event, The Mandate Press teamed up with Dan Christofferson to create a companion poster and postcard set. The event (which I wish I could have attended myself) was entitled “Full Bleed, The Design and Tattoo Experience”, and featured the art and design work of local tattoo artists. So, appropriately, the resulting illustrated designs combined references to both traditional tattoo imagery and printing and design jargon. The boundaries were also pushed from a technical standpoint through the use of heavy ink coverage and super tight registration, which you can clearly see in the close-ups. Impressive!
