I love pattern art.
I use it A LOT in my work—probably too much according to some people. But it’s one aspect of design that I really enjoy playing around with. I have not, however, mastered an easy way to make a repeat, (despite the fact that I took a couple of Surface Pattern Design classes in college). I’m sure my process is twice as difficult/involved/complicated as it needs to be, so I was pretty psyched to see this tutorial given by Julia Rothman, a pattern designer and illustrator whose work I really admire.
