Speaking of Penguin…

I am coveting this newly-released set of James Bond novels. Not that I’m a particularly big James Bond fan, but the cover art alone is worth the purchase. I’m also obsessively drawn to things designed in sets or collections that vary from item to item but are held together by the style or shape or size or some other design element. And these look pretty amazing lined up on a shelf. I’d probably have to hold myself back from framing them and mounting them on a wall.

Artist Michael Gillette was commissioned to paint the covers for all 14 volumes. (You can see more of his work here and here). And I found out through his blog that some prints of the covers are being sold through Cosh in the UK. They’re a bit pricey for me, but definitely tempting.

So far it looks like the books are only available on Amazon UK. I haven’t seen anything about them being released in the States, but I’m crossing my fingers.
